Crucifixion (Feb 24, 2016)

Jesus, the utter disgrace You met when you stood trial - being mocked and convicted for being who you are. Jesus, Your very name, "I Am", and the delusion of our culture is what rejects you - this simple, yet profound truth, that You are who You say You are. Jesus, I cannot comprehend the disgusting pride, arrogance and belittling you faced that day - You who had and have every right, all the power to snuff us out with a single breath, allowed us to put  You on trial. And we diminished You, we cursed You, we turned a blind eye to the truth in favour of our way of living life - our own version of truth. We esteemed you not. Not at all. And on that fateful day, you gave us your last breath.

But praise be to God that this was not the end - but rather a new and glorious beginning! The breath you gave sparked new life in us - the very ones who thought we had everything figured out. The breath of Your spirit fans the flame in our souls - the flame that burns for You. The flame that cannot be snuffed out. The enemy cannot quench this wildfire though he be the king of his own flaming condemnation. Father, You have exalted Jesus to the highest place, giving Him the name above every other name.

Jesus, I bow at Your name. You alone are Lord.

I honour and praise You this day for giving your life to me. I cannot thank you enough for enduring the penalty that I deserve. Jesus, I cannot even come up with words to express it... Lord let us worship you like they should have. They had the Great I Am in their presence. They lifted you on a tree. May we lift You up with everything we have. Jesus, may we lift You up in our hearts, above everything, to the glory of God, our Father in Heaven, forever, Amen.
